Judy's Story
At the tender age of eighteen, Judy escaped a well-manicured suburb of Cleveland to attend Boston University. Cocooned by college life, she still managed to explore the city’s offbeat, sometimes seedy neighborhoods and its burgeoning punk rock scene.
As a student at BU, she honed her writing skills, reporting for the school newspaper and penning various scripts and essays. During her senior year, she sustained life-threatening injuries in a fire that put her in the hospital for a month and required several months of physical therapy. The experience gave her unique insight on how illness and injury can affect the psyche, which would prove to be an asset in writing her novel many years later.
After graduation, she quickly found work as an advertising copywriter and built a successful career as a freelancer. She’s racked up a number of creative awards including a Clio and multiple honors for healthcare writing, her specialty. While busily crafting copy about cardiac stents, pulsed-dye lasers and injectable interfons, she began to have murderous impulses. A dark and twisted story came to her; a tale of a good man’s transformation into a cunning serial killer.
Judy is currently seeking representation for this story, which became her debut novel, while simultaneously working on her next piece of criminal fiction.
Judy lives in Boston with her husband Tom, a musician and videographer. Their enormous cat Sammy enjoys hearing Judy read her murder scenes aloud, while lounging comfortably on the radiator.
